Booking food at the refugio

The refugio has asked us to book online for any nights people want food. Bookings can be made here already https://reservarefugios.com/en/booking
Instructions:
Select Vega de Ario, select a check in date and a check out date. On page two you can then select the services you require each day. ‘Cena’ = Dinner, ‘Pernocta’ = a bed for the night, ‘Desayuno’ = Breakfast. Ignore the other choices (take away dinner, hiring a tent, lunch or picnics)
You can also add any special requests and dietary requirements.
If you cannot select a service that is because that service is fully booked. e.g. the Refugio is fully booked on the 1st August for sleeping (not dinner) and then on the 2nd August Breakfast is also fully booked.
Refugio Prices (standard)
Bed = 17E
Breakfast = 6E
Dinner = 16E
If you are a ‘federado’ then you can save 5E on the price of a bed and 1E on the price of dinner (more info on how to become a ‘federado’ when we have it). After you have entered booking details you will be asked to pay half of the price upfront and half at the refugio (in cash)
If you choose not to sleep inside then camping is the easy alternative and we’re happy for people just to make that arrangement themselves (camping is free). Food is where it gets a bit more complex because clearly alternative food has a cost in both monetary terms and effort involved in carrying supplies up the mountain. We also want to ensure some level of co-ordination between the team.
In order to do that we’ve come up with the following approach. Firstly some set prices, secondly a request that we try to align our approach to meals by each person either eating entirely in the refugio, eating in the refugio half of the time or being 100% self-catering. Once we know your preferences we can plan accordingly. Whatever the case we will always have spare food for anyone coming out of caves late so don’t let that be a worry.
