Refugio or camping?? IMPORTANT

Hi all,

Ignacio knows to expect us, but we could do with letting him know who is going to want to stay in the refugio, when and for how many nights, as its a busy time of year for him and other people are already booking places there.

So, please reply to this topic, otherwise you might just lose out on a bed space!

I am planning to stay in the Refugio when I'm not underground, but don't know my dates yet - will be either 1st or 2nd week in Jul

I'm planning to stay in the refugio from 26 June - 8th July inclusive _ I guess Keith and Stu too? I'll email them now to reply!

Update: my dates are now fairly sure to be 8-16 Jul and want to stay in refugio when not underground

Remind us what the cost of the refugio works out at?

Should be 10 euros per night for bed space, and then evening meals work out at 15 euros. Breakfasts between 5-10 euros, depending on whats ordered and no hen mutiny!

I'm going to camp, but eat evening meals in the refugio.

I think I will stay and eat at refugio. As much for the sake of my laptop and cameras as for  my own comfort. Also don;t want to carry a tent up the hill.
Not confirmed flights etc yet, but I guess between 28/6 - 15/7.

While I am more than happy to camp, I would prefer to stay in the Refugio to minimise what my poor old knees have to carry out the mountain.

IT'S WORTH MENTIONING HERE, THAT IF YOU CAMP IGNACIO DOESNT ASK FOR MUCH MONEY BUT PLEASE DO TRY AND AT LEAST EAT THERE RELATIVELY OFTEN AS PAYMENT - THANKS

I plan to send Ignacio a list of those staying in the refugio in the next few days, so those who havent replied yet but want to stay in the refugio, please do let me know ASAP! Either way, post on here your intentions if you havent let me know already! Also, to make sure ignacio has enough food, let me know if you plan to eat in the refugio.

Plan to stay & eat in Refugio-simpler logistics.

Looking at the food thread, I see there's mention of expedition breakfast. Assuming different to Refugio? If so, might do that rather than eat breakfast in Refugio if it keeps costs down. Either's good, though
