What experience do people have with Aid Climbing?
and what gear and techniques did you use or do you prefer and why?

I've got some experience from various projects in the UK and abroad, but wouldn't describe myself as mega-experienced. I'd have a fairly strong preference for adjustable etriers (I can probably bring some if needed).

Aid climbing tends to get developed on an individual basis. I usually use two sets of triple step raumer ets, speedy links for rope runners and a slack hand full of lightweight pear krabs as well as a daisy chain and a Petzl progress lanyard. I'm happy to share this with people who know what they're doing.

Steve Macnamara here... have yet to swt up my own account ☺ I have done some aid climbing - have tape 'knee hooks' which are comfortable and lightweight, (Russian style) that said I havent tried etriers. I use 6mm concrete screws for exploratory stuff. Maybe can chat at Derbyshire meet coming up if anyone about.
